Welcome to 2026

Welcome members to 2026 and I trust you all had a great Christmas and New Year with family friends and hoping that the coming 12 months will be a healthy and safe one for us all.

The MOCQ has a busy but a great year ahead with many events planned in all of groups plus the events which are now an annual run and get together. Just a quick overview of some of the big events coming up.

Australia Day is always a great reason for members to get together and celebrate this special day and Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Toowoomba groups have a day planned, check with your group captains or visit the web site/events page for more information.

March we have the AGM which is always important as members can come along and have a free BBQ and then sit in on the meeting and hear how your committee has performed through the past year and also an opportunity to have your say and be able to put suggestions forward.

April we have the annual Brisbane River crossings run which is always a fun event as we get to go over, on under and drive beside the Brisbane River and finishing at the Trade Coast Hotel Pinkenba Hotel for lunch.

May has the London 2 Brighton run which draws many cars and the route this year is a bit different as we travel through Brisbane to Mt Coo-tha for smoko and then onto the Brighton Hotel Brighton for lunch and prize giving.

The Brick and Humpy event is in June, an event which pitches the MOCQ against our friends from the FX/FJ club to compete for the coverted perpetual trophy, currently held by the Humpy club.

Then in August is the big event which celebrates 60 year since the mighty Mini won Gallaher 500 at Bathurst. This is a limited number event so when it comes up on the web site be quick and register your place. It will be a run of 8 days and 7 nights. More information to come on this event towards the end of January.

September has the All British Day where over 600 Vintage Classic and modern cars are on display. We are looking at having a show and shine event for the MOCQ cars included in this event.

These are only a few of the many events that are being held throughout the club groups so please go to the events page on the web site for more information on each event and register

This is important as all these events will have catering requirements and numbers are essential. We the committee would love to see you and meet you at these events.
